K.G SEBONYANE is an up-and-coming practising artist of visual art and has a small unregistered company named GIFT.ART.PRODUCTION where he sells his art. He specializes in ceramic, charcoal and pencil work. He is passionate about art, and both of his work he painted on top of two different existing paintings, and from a technical school named Olien High School in Fouresmith in the Free State. He finished his grade 12 at Olien High School and started perfecting his skills. He went to Motheo TVET College and is now a full-time student. He is passionate about doing art and he is making art to develop more skills in paintings. He got interested in art while he was in prison falsely accused of a crime he didn’t really commit during his matric year, where he made a small sculpture using soap and newspaper. He uses art to control his emotions and by telling his experiences.
What he is trying to achieve in his work is to give guidance to people less positive and most negative thinkers in their everyday lives on how to deal with situations around them. What happened years back and the present days in life you should take a stand for and learn how to be more positive by adding prayers and acting. His subject matter is based on experiences that occur in our everyday lives. He enjoys experimenting by creating art, challenging himself, being curious about new experiences and gaining knowledge on how to stay positive in life and do new things that will benefit us as individuals.
His creative process is problem-solving and critical thinking from his art. He still seeks his inspiration from other old master artists who were telling experiences and guided people positively so.
His hopes are based on societal changes to help people and communities to find their voices and express their concerns through individual and collaborative art projects, and he wants to explore different techniques by entering more art competitions, not to win, but have a voice and guide people.
